FUN DIVING

Roatan diving

Diving on Roatan is an experience unlike any other. With our beautiful coral reef just minutes from the shore and such a variety of dive sites, Roatan is a scuba diving paradise. Roatan diving experiences can vary greatly between the dive shops on the island. At Best Dive Roatan we pride ourselves on offering our divers the highest safety standard as well as everything they need to enjoy every minute of their time on the island.

When scheduling your diving on Roatan, please be advised that Fun dives are for certified divers only. If you are just beginning, we have options for you to choose from including Discover scuba diving and an Open water certification. If you are certified but have not been diving in the last 6 months or more, it is highly recommended that you take a Refresher course. A Refresher course will ensure your enjoyment of the dive as well as the safety of everyone involved. While diving is a peaceful and non-strenuous activity, we always want to make sure that our clients are medically fit to dive.

Diving with the best

Best Dive Roatan ensures the enjoyment and safety of all of our divers and snorkelers. We follow a diving schedule that allows divers to make the most of their dive time on Roatan. The boat leaves each day at 9am, 11am and 2pm. When Night dives are scheduled, the boat leaves at dusk. We have 60 minutes dive times, when air supply permits, which allows you to enjoy more time in the wonderful underwater world. At Best Dive Roatan, we like to keep our groups small with a maximum of 5 divers per Dive master. This not only provides the high safety standards you need to feel comfortable while scuba diving, but also allows you to better enjoy your dive experience on Roatan.

At Best Dive Roatan, we offer you the option to rent our new and professionally maintained equipment for your dives or to store your own gear in our dive shop. Whether or not you bring your own gear or rent every piece of equipment from us, you can be confident that everything will be checked, cleaned and properly stored and maintained as part of our concierge service.

Night dives

Night dives are a fantastic opportunity to see the coral reef in a whole new way. Night diving on Roatan is even better than most other places since the coral reef is so close to shore. The boat leaves at dusk and it is highly recommended to try a Night dive at least once on your trip to the island of Roatan. While it is guaranteed that you will experience the coral reef in a new way, you may also see some new creatures such as octopus, bioluminescence, and more!

Advanced booking for Night dives is required so please make sure you talk with your dive professional at the beginning of your stay to best optimize your dive time on Roatan.

Keep fun dives fun

When booking your last few fun dives, please remember that it is recommended to wait 24 hours after your last dive before you are safe to fly. Failing to follow this Dive Standard can result in severe health complications.

The Divers Alert Network (DAN) recommends a 12-hour minimum surface interval before flying, and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors’ (PADI) Flying After Diving guidelines say divers should not ascend to a high altitude within
12 hours of completing a single dive or 18 hours after doing multiple dives. Whenever possible, wait 24 hours.
