Fun Diving in Roatán
Daily boat diving from our own dock
Roatán’s reef sits close to shore, so you’re rarely more than a short boat ride from a good dive site. Fun dives are for certified divers — if you’re new to diving, start with [link: Try Scuba Diving] or work toward your [link: Open Water Diver certification] instead. Haven’t dived in the last twelve months or so? We’d recommend a quick refresher first, both for your comfort and everyone else’s safety in the water.
We ask every diver to be medically fit before getting in the water.
Our daily dive schedule
Boats leave our private dock at approximately 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 2:00 PM, with night dives departing at dusk when scheduled. Dive times run up to 60 minutes, air supply permitting, and we keep groups small — a maximum of five divers per guide — so everyone gets real attention underwater.
Bring your own gear or rent ours. Either way, everything gets checked, rinsed and stored properly as part of our normal service.
Night dives
The reef looks completely different after dark, and being this close to shore makes Roatán one of the easier places to try it. Expect to see things you won’t during the day — octopus, bioluminescence, and a generally quieter, slower reef. Night dives need to be booked in advance, so mention it to your dive professional early in your stay.
Keep fun dives fun
If you’re wrapping up your diving before a flight home, plan for at least 24 hours of surface interval before you fly. Diver safety organizations recommend a minimum 12-hour interval after a single dive, or 18 hours after multiple dives — but giving yourself the full 24 hours is the safer bet.
