See Roatán the way it's meant to be seen — from the water

If you only have time for one non-diving trip on the island, this is the one our guests talk about most. It’s a full day by boat, tracing a good part of Roatán’s coastline, with the boat gliding smoothly between the reef and the shore the whole way — calm, scenic, and different from anything you’d see by road.

What to expect?

Punta Gorda and the mangroves

Early on, we pass Punta Gorda, the oldest settlement on the island, and your guide will share some of its history along the way. As we reach the tip of the island, the route shifts into narrow mangrove canals — quiet, shaded, and worth keeping an eye on the water for crocodiles as we cruise through.

Pigeon Cay: snorkeling with nurse sharks and stingrays

Pigeon Cay itself is a sunken island, and the payoff for the trip out — turquoise water in the middle of nowhere, with nurse sharks and stingrays moving calmly around you as you snorkel. It’s a genuinely different kind of snorkeling experience, more remote and open than anything close to shore.

Lunch at Santa Helena

From there, we stop at a local spot in Santa Helena for lunch — simple, fresh, and prepared by people who live on this part of the island.

More snorkeling on the way back

Heading home, there are a couple more stops built in: a shipwreck now covered in marine life, and a drift over a striking starfish field. By the end of the day, you’ve covered more of Roatán’s coastline and marine life than most visitors see in an entire trip.
